Volkswagen Anhui has reached a major milestone with its 100,000th intelligent electric vehicle rolling off the production line. The commemorative vehicle, an ID.UNYX 08, was handed over to its owner by Kang Mingfu, CEO of Volkswagen (Anhui) Automotive Co., Ltd., and Liu Zhanshu, CEO of Volkswagen (Anhui) Digital Sales & Service Co., Ltd. The achievement reflects the joint venture's manufacturing strength and product expansion in the intelligent connected EV segment.

Since CUPRA Tavascan began exports in 2024, Volkswagen Anhui has accelerated production capacity and product iteration. In the first half of 2026, the company launched three models—the ID.UNYX 06, 07, and 08—building steady market recognition. The brand now offers four production models across the CUPRA and ID.UNYX lines, with the ID.UNYX 09, already filed with MIIT in July, set to debut in the second half of 2026, further completing the ID.UNYX family.

Volkswagen Anhui has pursued a differentiated path combining German engineering with Chinese innovation. The ID.UNYX series maintains Volkswagen's rigorous safety and quality standards while integrating local technologies. The ID.UNYX 08 was co-developed with XPeng, while the 06 and 07 feature Volkswagen's in-house CEA electronic and electrical architecture. All models come equipped with localized smart driving and cockpit technologies tailored to Chinese consumers.

Kang Mingfu noted that 100,000 vehicles represent the trust of 100,000 families and mark a new starting point. Liu Zhanshu added that the brand remains user-centric and will deliver a more reliable smart mobility experience as the full product matrix takes shape.

Leveraging Hefei's new energy industry cluster, Volkswagen Anhui has built an integrated system covering R&D, testing, smart manufacturing, and sales services, advancing both domestic and export strategies. From rapid product iteration to capacity growth, the company is driving joint venture transformation through localized R&D, positioning itself to serve both Chinese and global markets.
